Casting New Play
Fresh off the heels of our fully SOLD OUT run of our first-ever production (BUMP : THREE SHORT PLAYS), new company MILLIONS & MILLIONS is preparing for our next original play, THE FAMOUS PAINTER written by Riley Michael Parker.
THE FAMOUS PAINTER is an original comedic play about a party thrown by a wealthy working artist, focusing on five specific people in attendance whose lives intertwine in a number of complicated ways. Inspired by screwball comedies of the past, but with the subject matter and sensibilities of today, this provocative, darkly-funny, insult-fueled play talks about love, rivalry, and how we can know someone for years and still not know them.
We are looking for 1 actor to join the cast.
TO APPLY FOR AN AUDITION fill out the form on this page, but make sure to read through all content first and make sure this is the right fit for you, in order to not waste our time or yours.
LOOKING FOR - Male, Age 34 - 45, good with comedy.
NON-UNION
PAID / COLLABORATIVE - Cast will split all proceeds from ticket sales. Production staff is all volunteer. (NOTE : I am familiar with the rules of the group regarding transparency with compensation, but exact numbers will be based on ticket sales, and can't be projected at this time. The cast is getting the full door, split 5 ways.)
COSTUMING - We are open to the cast providing their own costume elements, and production will fill in any gaps.
PROPS - Provided by production.
REHEARSALS - Rehearsals will be held at Mudd Palace Gallery / Workspace in SE Portland, and will move to the venue for final rehearsals.
PERFORMANCES - Initial performances will be held in the Word Virus gallery space.
DATES - We have several dates blocked out for late summer with the venue for the performances, but exact dates are TBD as we first need to cast. The space is working closely with us to accommodate production.
Actors are not required or expected to provide any labor outside of rehearsals, performances, and very minor marketing (telling your friends about the show / signal-boosting on socials about the performances, basic casual promotion stuff).
This play deals with adult themes, and contains adult language. All applicants must live in the Portland metro area, have reliable transportation, and must be available for evening rehearsals.
We are looking for people with passion, drive, and a collaborative mindset, who are dedicated to lifting up their fellow artists. Previous stage experience preferred. Reliability a must.
If you are interested in getting an audition, please fill out our submission form.
We are very excited about this play! And we're so pumped to cast the right person to join our team and tell this story! Looking forward to hearing from you! Thank you, and good luck!
