The Work of Riley Parker & Sam Ashurst

This page is a showcase of the comics that Riley & Sam will bring to Short Run if our application is accepted.

BOY, I’M STUPID

Riley’s 60 day journal comic. Inspired by classic journal zines like CLUTCH, SNAKEPIT, and Nicole George’s INVINCIBLE SUMMER, Riley created a 3-panel comic for each day for 60 days straight. Through snippets of his life, a loose narrative of art, friendship, and surface-level introspection is built 1 panel at a time. 28 pages. Releases late June, 2025.

POEM DOG

Half poetry, half single panel comics, this collection focuses on sex, art, self-doubt, and dogs. 24 pages. Available now.

TOILET OF TERROR

Jonathan, a middle-aged insurance claims adjuster, loves his job, but hates his family. Forced to go home after a long (but far too short) day of work, Jonathan struggles to adjust to the domestic part of his day. 36 pages. Set to debut at Short Run.
